She was planning for a side dish for pizza and salad is definitely the best option for this. But she has no idea what kind of salads go with pizza! This is not Jenny’s problem only! For many of us, we face such indecisions.
So here we have come up with 7 different and delicious salad recipes to make your planning easier. These salads are perfect as a side dish with all kinds of pizzas like homemade pizza, frozen pizza, or restaurant-made. Also full of nutritional value.

What kind of Salads go with Pizza!!
Red onion salad recipe
- 2 Big Onion Slice (Separate)
- Green without seeds Chopped 1/2 tsp
- Red pepper Powder
- 4 Tomatoes
- Salt to taste
- 1/2 tsp seasoning
- Black Pepper Powder
- 1 tbsp Fresh Lemon Juice
- Vinegar/Mustard oil
First, peel the onions and wash them well. Then cut the onions into very thin rings. Place the onion rings in a medium bowl and separate the rings by hand.
Cut the green pepper in half and discard the seeds. Then grind it well.
Mix the chopped green pepper well in the onion. Sprinkle red pepper powder, salt to taste, seasoning, a little pinch one by one. Mix well with a tablespoon or spatula.
Add lemon juice or vinegar. You can give mustard oil instead if you like the pungent flavor. You can add tomato slices in it.
Mix very well and serve immediately with coriander leaves on top with salad.

Tips to reduce hand soreness
Red onion salad is often smeared with the hands and then the hands get soreness as red and green chili are used in it. Best way is to mix with a spatula. Even if one feels comfortable to mix with the hand, and then may cause of salinity. Chili contains an organic substance called ‘capsaicin’, which is responsible for soreness. In this case, some tips are given to reduce the soreness.
- Milk or alcohol works well to reduce the salinity of pepper. Also, adding sour yogurt will reduce the irritation of the hands immediately. In the same way, if the tongue gets sore, drinking cold milk will be released very quickly.
- If the hand is sore, ice can be used if there is nothing
- Applying petroleum jelly and olive oil on the hands will also reduce irritation
Black bean chickpea cucumber salad
- One 15.5 sodium chickpea
- 1 cup of chopped tomato
- 1 cucumber
- 2 tbsp Olive oil
- 2 celery stalks
- Red and green capsicum
- 1 sliced onion
Take the cucumber and give a good rinse under cold water. Time to peel and remove its seeds. You don’t have to do these but it’s a good practice to do both of them or you prefer. Just cut the cucumber in half lengthwise. Take a spoon and scoop out all the seeds in the middle by dragging the spoon down in the length of the cucumber. Repeat the process for the other part. Time for chopped up the cucumber. Then add one cup of chopped tomato.
Rinse the celery stalks and chop them with the leaves. Chopped up the red and green capsicum and mixed with them Now mix the onion slices. Before adding with the salad, keep them in a cold water bowl for 15 minutes. Iced water takes away some of the extra tangs of raw onion. Fresh cilantro
Add olive oil. Then add ½ tablespoon balsamic vinegar. You could use red wine or white vinegar or even lemon juice instead.

Summer salad with blue cheese
- Spring Mix
- 2 cup Blue Cheese
- 8/10 Cherry Tomatoes
- 10/12 Green Grapes
At first, rinse the spring mixed and wipe with kitchen tissue. You can use lettuce instead and tear them into bite-size pieces. But using spring mixed is good as they.
Take some crumbled blue cheese and spread it over the salad.
You can use raw grapes or just break them by hand to make some juice all over the salad.
Throw the leftover crushed grapes into the bowl. You can use a sort of blender but it’s an easy way to use your hands.

Green salad with Thomas Keller’s Creamy Mustard Vinaigrette dressing
- A large egg yolk
- 5 tablespoons of Dijon mustard
- 1 cup Oil
- Green tomato
- Romaine lettuce
Take 5 tbsp of Dijon mustard in a mixing bowl. Add extra virgin olive oil but any oil like cooking oil or mustard oil will work. Peanut oil can be a good option.
Add some apple cider vinegar, a little lemon juice, some Worcestershire sauce, ¼ cup of sour cream.
Now give a mix with a hand whisk to blend. You can use 2 drops of sugar substitute to make a balance of acidity.
Give a quick mix again before adding spices. Add some salt to taste, garlic and onion powder, cayenne powder, ground black pepper, and finally some thyme.
Mix all of them until everything is well blended. Cover the bowl with a non-vented lid and keep it for 1-3 hours in the refrigerator. That makes a great flavorful smell.

Italian dressing ingredients–
- ½ cup extra virgin olive oil
- 3 Tbsp white wine vinegar
- 1/4 cup finely grated Parmesan cheese
- 1 Tbsp mayonnaise
- 1 tsp sugar
- 1 finely grated garlic clove
- 1/2 tsp dried oregano
- 1/2 tsp dried parsley
- 1/2 tsp dried basil
- 1/2 tsp Pepper flakes
- Salt to taste
- Black pepper to taste
Italian pasta salad–
- 8 oz Rotini Pasta (can also use tri-color)
- 6 oz sliced Salami
- 1/2 medium diced Red Onion
- 8 oz Fresh Mozzarella Pearls
- 10 oz Cherry tomatoes slices
- ½ diced English Cucumber
- 1/2 cup sliced Black Olives, pitted and
- 1/3 cup finely chopped parsley
- 1/2 cup Kalamata olives, pitted and halved
- 1/2 cup Roasted Red Peppers
- 1 cup Italian Dressing
Homemade Italian dressing-
You can start with the simple dressing, combine ½ cup of olive oil in a mason jar. Add 3 tablespoon white vinegar and then add some sugar to balance out that vinegar.
Next, add finely grated parmesan cheese and mayonnaise. You can use chopped garlic or garlic paste as well.
For seasoning, you should use spices like dried parsley, basil. Add some black pepper and salt to taste.
Cover with the lid tightly and shake it up to be well combined. You can use a hand whisk for mixing the ingredients perfectly. If you want to preserve it, you can store it in the refrigerator. Before use, just shake it properly.
Italian pasta Salad

Add some salt and then boil with pasta as per its packet instruction. The most important thing you have to maintain they should not be overcooked. It will ruin the real taste of pasta.
During boiling the pasta, you can prep other ingredients. Make thin strips by slicing the salami and then cut the cherry tomatoes into small pieces. Next dice up half of a cucumber. In case if you don’t like cucumber, you can use bell peppers instead. Then cut the red onion or chopped it up.

If your pasta boiled up perfectly, just drained the hot water and rinse under cold water till it completely cooled down. Rinse under cold water removes the extra starch and turn off the cooking process.
Now the time to layer every ingredient in a large dish or bowl.
Spread the paste all over the bowl as the base. Then add tomato slices, mozzarella pieces, chopped onions, cucumber slices, and black olives over the pasta. Add chopped parsley, red pepper, testing salt. Add the Italian dressing generously over the salad and toss them up as every bite is coated with this delicious, super tasty dressing. You can take it as your complete meal as well.

Vegetable pasta salad with mayonnaise
Ingredients Homemade eggless mayonnaise –
- 1/2 cup chilled full-fat milk
- 1 cup refine oil
- 1/2 tsp sugar
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1 tsp vinegar
For the salad dressing –
- Mayonnaise – 3 tbsp
- Mustard paste – 1 tsp
- Italian seasoning/ oregano – 1 tsp
- Finely chopped Garlic – 1 tsp
- Vinegar – 2 tsp
- Pepper – 1/2 tsp
- Salt – to taste
- Boiled pasta 140 grams Vegetables of your choice – Onion, Sweet corn, Capsicum, Carrot, Tomato, Olives, Spring onion greens, sauteed broccoli
Pour a jar with ½ cup of chilled full cream milk and add 1 teaspoon salt in it. Mix 1 teaspoon powder sugar and 1 tsp of white vinegar.
Cover with a lid shake it quickly. The lid should be non-vented. You can also use a hand blender to mix them properly.
Take the cup of oil and pour a little at a time while blending. Add all the oil little by little and do not stop blending till it became thick.
Your homemade eggless mayonnaise will be ready within 5 minutes. For those who don’t like raw egg-made mayonnaise, it’s perfect for them.
Now time to make the dressing. Put 3 tablespoons of mayonnaise on a bowl. Add 2 tablespoons of white vinegar. Mixed them and then add 1 tablespoon of mustard paste. Grind the black mustard in a mixie with some water.
Sprinkle a little amount of black paper if you like and salt to taste. Spread Italian seasoning to enhance the flavor and taste. Add 1 teaspoon of garlic paste at last. Mix them well and your salad dressing is ready.
Boil the pasta and add some salt to the water. Be careful as it should not be overcooked. Overcooked pasta will destroy the real taste of this salad.
Add chopped onion, tomato slices, green bell pepper slices, black olives pieces, sweet corns, sauteed broccoli, red capsicum slices. You can use any other vegetables in your fridge. It’s totally up to you.
Mix them well and then pour the dressing over the salad. Toss them properly to mix with each ingredient.
Serve in a dish garnishing with spring onion green and chopped parsley. When your serve this mouthwatering salad next to your family member and guest their eyes will light up definitely.

Radicchio salad with oranges
- 2 oranges
- 1 medium size Radicchio
- 1 cup smoked almond
- 2 tablespoons sherry vinegar
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- ½ cup pecorino/ parmesan cheese
- 1 teaspoon salt to taste
Rinse and peel the oranges. Then cut into pieces and blend half of them to make juice. Use a bolter when pouring the orange juice into a jar. You will get fresh juice as leftovers are confined on the bolter. Add 2 tablespoons of sherry vinegar. You can use white vinegar or wine vinegar according to your preference.
Add 2 tablespoons of honey and 1 cup of olive oil. Sprinkle salt and pepper to taste. Cover the lid and shake it to mix all the ingredients. Your orange dressing is ready!
Now rinse the radicchio and drain the water. Cut into bite pieces and put them in a bowl. Add smocked almonds, pecorino cheese or parmesan cheese, some orange slices. Then season with salt and pepper fickle. Mix them and then pour the immediately made dressing over the salad. Your favorite salad is ready within 15 minutes! You can take it as a light meal also.
