Del Frisco’s Butter Cake Recipe Ingredients

  1. 2 cups All purpose flour
  2.  ⅔ cup butter (melted)
  3.  2 large eggs
  4.  2 tbsp milk
  5.  2 cups of sugar, regular white granulated sugar
  6.  1 tsp Salt
  7.  ¼ tsp Baking Soda
  8.  1 tsp Baking powder
  9.  1 tsp vanilla extract
  10.  Turbinado or Demerara sugar for the coating of the mini cake pans

For the Garnish:

  1. Butter Pecan Ice Cream (¼ cup scoop/cake)
  2.  12 tbsp caramel sauce (2 tbsp/cake)
  3.  1 cup whipped cream

What equipment do I need?

You will need:

  • 4’’ springform pans
  •  4’’ parchment paper circles
  •  Whip cream dispenser cartridges
  •  Whip cream dispenser

How to make Del Frisco’s Butter Cake:

Prepare your cake pans first:

  1. Prepare 6 4-inch mini springform pans
  2.  Butter each pan with butter mixture and put a wax paper circle or parchment paper in the bottom
  3.  Add 1 ½ tsp of coarse sugar in each cake pan, so the sides are sugared 
  4.  Preheat the oven to 350°F

Prepare the Butter Cake batter

  1. Put the flour, baking powder, salt & baking soda into a bowl and mix them together.
  2.  Add the sugar, milk, egg & vanilla into another bowl and mix until they’re just blended (not mixed!)
  3.  Slowly add the solid flour mixture into the wet mixture and mix the cake batter really well using a hand mixer
  4.  Mix the batter until it’s smooth and scrape the sides of the pans to make sure everything is mixed well.
  5.  Divide the batter into the 6 pans and tap each pan on your counter to remove any air pockets that may cause uneven texture.
  6.  Bake in the preheated oven and let it cool for 15 minutes before removing the cakes.

Tips

  • The tempering process is very important: When you’re tempering (equalizing the temperatures of one mix to the other)
  •  Bake them in the oven in 300° F for about an hour (with a water bath)
